Designer of the week: Ilk

Today, Ilovegraphics turns 4 months. In order to celebrate properly the birthday of my anti-procrastinating device (which makes me procrastinating even more in the end), I’ve decided to inaugurate a new weekly post. “Designer of the week” will showcase works that made me  smile, made me look, made me shiver, in no particular order.
Let me introduce you to Ludovic Prigent, aka Ilk. My first designer-of-choice is a nice french guy, working with his cat Pitou, exploring the vast fields of illustration, photography web, print and identity design. He has worked for Artoyz, Nike or Virgin, and is now described as the frenchy “creme de la creme” (aka, the trendy guy) by Trendsnow, who’ve just released an interview as I write this. (Damn, wasn’t quick enough on this one, should have posted it yesterday! What was I thinking, doing something else?) Even if his portfolio features a wide range of professional works, I have a special crush on his photoblog: everyday life bits are my favourite.
With no further talk… (Because you know, they all say you don’t read post, you SCAN them, tsskkk.) Pictures!

As I write this, I’ve got a kitty trying to eat my hand. This must have influenced my choices and reduced the post size. If I don’t blog in the 3 days, call the police, I’ve probably been eaten by a cat.
Have a wonderful week-end everyone, and remember, MAKE THAT LOGO BIGGER!

Excellent work. I love the photographs, very moody. I’m especially fond of the logos. It’s quite rare to see plain single-colour logos done so well in the age of super gradients and “How about we make it more 3D?”.

Ludovic is a worthy first candidate for your weekly experiment. Oh, Happy Birthday, BTW. You’ve maintained it so well that the site doesn’t look a day older than 2 months! … My attempts at flattery never work out right.

On a side note, it’s not really fair to write this post half about the designer and half about flesh eating cats. I mean, he’s good, but how can he possibly compete with with Flesh-Eating Cats? See, I don’t even remember what this was about except a suspenseful cliffhanger ending involving flesh-eating cats. I say we need more dedicated flesh-eating cats posts!

P.S. Zélia, you can thank me later for the flood of search engine traffic you’re going to get soon from all those well adjusted people searching for ‘flesh eating cats’. ;)

I have been actually thinking for 24 hours now about how I could write a post about flesh-eating cats.

    I’ll find out.
