Vintage goodness

Posted May 29th, 2010 in Blog by Zélia

If like me, you’re an amateur for everything involving vintage graphic design et 50’s era, you’ll love my friend Coline’s tumblog. She finally decided to share her incredible treasures, from vintage catalogs to photos she founded back in a garage sale. You’ll also find tons of strange videos that might at least make you smile. I sure hope she’ll start to scan all the incredibly well preserved magazines she’s been keeping with love for years now. Welcome to the world of Colinette à la cour.

Back on tracks !

Posted April 26th, 2010 in Blog by Zélia

As you can see, I’ve been updating the blog a little. It was time for something different,
but in the end, something that would really be easier to update, portfolio wise. I’ve been fumbling through tons of pre-made portfolios solution, and while I really did have a crush on Pixie, I ended up sticking to wordpress for the sake of not loosing everything I’ve made around here. Anyway, I’ll be uploading loads of new works in the portfolio section in the next days, so keep your eyes opened :)

Love and ampersands!

This is certainly not Pixel perfect for now…My understanding of CSS is in constant evolution (from huh? to duh?). So don’t hit me too hard on the head, okay?

One year

Posted October 21st, 2009 in Blog, Everyday life by Zélia

Kosuke Ikeda

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Ilovegraphics. I can remember the painful nights spent learning Wordpress, correcting glitches, trying to understand the basics of Html, and most of all, spending time trying to imagine what the future of this blog would be.

Truth is, I didn’t post as much as I hoped to — I guess that’s part of the doomed blogger’s life. Real life has catched me back, and forced me into many time consuming activities such as reading books, watching the sky, and talking to cats. One year ago, I was wondering if I had to quit my job as a junior art director, and try to find a new activity. One year ago, I wondered what I could do with my life, as it seemed to me that things weren’t that good. One year ago seems like a pretty long time ago. During this year, I’ve made new things, met new people and new friends, learn quite a few tricks, and most of all, bought a wonderful little house with my significant other. Seems like things have finally gotten better.

What now? I’ve got a whole brand new year ahead of me, coz I renewed the domain name  for Ilovegraphics. And now that I’m settled down, I’ll sure try to post more. Until life gets me back again.
Happy birthday, blog, you really helped me a lot :)

Weekly inspiration

Posted March 6th, 2009 in Blog, Graphic Design & trends, Photography by Zélia

We are Friday, and, as ever, I didn’t find the time to post all the amazing stuff I stumbled upon this week. You never know when you won’t find the time to post, and as I’m not a professionnal blogger, I don’t write my posts on week-ends. Anyway, let’s go for the weekly cool stuff round-up.

• The wonderful photographs of Alyz are a must see for retro/moddy effects lovers.
• 20 corporate brand logo evolution. As the title says. Pretty inspiring, and shows the tendancy to overwork logos nowadays.
Things graphic designers like. Okay, this is just scary.
• 15 inspirationnal pink websites. Pink is good.
• Augmented reality makes such a fuss. This is a really cool example of it’s numerous use.
• 15 things I wish I had known when I started my first blog. Very useful.
•  My friend Purdey made those cute sequin-made pacman thingies. I’m in love.
• What makes a good creative director?
• Love to make list? Makefive

• Some yummy vintage japanese stuff. That’s why I love graphic design.

• Your inner bits have never been so sexy. Cune fashion wear

And now for something completely different…
I’m off to a little week-end in the charming country of Scotland. Let alone my lack of laptop there, I won’t be blogging much there, as I’ll probably spend my time in pubs or museum, or drunk in museums. Have fun and thanks for reading!
