Weekly inspiration

Posted March 31st, 2009 in Everyday life, Graphic Design & trends, Illustration, Just for fun, art by Zélia

Hi there! More than a week without any updates, something I try to avoid by all means, but that seems to be more and more difficult… Last weeks were pretty intense work-wise, ruining all my plans to do anything else on a spare-time basis. Pitches are officially 1/dreadful, 2/horrible, 3/trying to kill me.
Anyway, time for some purtyyy things. Because work is not all in life.

If like me, you have an obsession with updating your status, take a look at this status calendar. What are you doing?

And now, off to appreciate this fantastic little moment of spare time, watching an awfully bad resident evil movie . \o/ Have a great day, week, or whatever. and don’t forget to brush your teeth. (I’m not kidding here.)
Love and ikea furnitures,

Philip Toledano & America the gifts shop

Posted December 29th, 2008 in art by Zélia

Peace and war omnibus.

If you feel like a bit politically uncorrect these days, I suggest you to take a look at this installation by Phillip Toledano, about the prison of Abu Grahib.

The virtual exhibition isn’t hysterically funny, but th point is to make you think, and I guess it works quite well.
And now you can hang yourself.

Something about Nan Goldin

Posted December 1st, 2008 in Photography by Zélia

I have never been able to explain why I was fascinated by photographer Nan Goldin. Her crude photographs always putted me in a strange ill-at-ease mood — yet I could not stop watching them over and over. I’ll always remember when, for the first time, I saw a picture of one of her friend masturbating. Dim light, strange exposure, and the bold centring emphasizing the nudity shocked me. Probably because it felt so true… I hope I’ll ever achieve this abilitie to catch real life moments, like she does.
