The designers republic is dead.

And long live the republic.

After 23 years of great design, TDR closed its doors on Tuesday. Economical crisis or simply every business fate, I can’t tell. But let’s remember the old days, the great books, and especially the dramatic impact they had on our visual culture. But most of all, let’s not speak as if they’re dead. That wouldn’t be fair. Wikipédia here for those who don’t know them, and for the sake of Helvetica overuse.

And completely off topic, I asked for my organ donor card today. You should too…

Have you seen this?

Posted November 28th, 2008 in Design, Graphic Design & trends by Zélia

The Helvetica Moleskine.

It combines two things that most designers love: moleskine notebook + Helvetica typeface. Plus it’s red. With a white cross.
Even I, in my yet usual  ”I-want-to-criticize” habit, can’t tell anything more than: I’d like one.
Even if I think Helvetica is overused as an “easy” font choice.
Even if I think Moleskine is cliché.

I am so gregarious.
I’ll go and self-punish myself, repeating a thousand time, “I won’t use helvetica or avant-garde every time I want to do  poster.”
(I saw it here. There are more pics for the curious.)

Edit: you can buy the marvellous little precious here !!!

Speaking of resolutions…

2 1/2 months to new year’s resolutions resolutions.

It seems that making resolutions is getting popular these days. This blog publishes a new batch of resolutions every weeks. Luv it. (Edit: forgot the link. Sorry guyz)
