Japanese mini-vans

Posted August 10th, 2009 in Graphic Design & trends by Zélia

As designer Shane Lat says about his tribute to a small perfection :” A tribute to the little vans and trucks most commonly found in Japan. Suited to their small, tight streets and spaces, these automobiles have a rich history and continue on in service today.”

A quick glimpse to those colorful engines made me instantly fall in love with them. I love the graphic-retro feel of the small trucks, much more interesting (IMHO) than american destructors trucks. Anyway, his thingsthatwelearn project is a jewel by itself. Take a look and get inspired!

Game boy’s anniversary

Posted April 24th, 2009 in Just for fun by Zélia

Did you know that the mythic Game Boy has reached it’s 20th anniversary on April, 21st? Pixels game graphics has inspired me a lot as a designer, and I probably had one of my more memorable game experience while finishing Zelda: Link’s awakening. Anyway, time for some retro-love ads!

Vintage computer ads

Posted December 31st, 2008 in Everyday life, Graphic Design & trends by Zélia

Time to get retro!

Thanks to Gizmodo, I just discovered this amazing computer vintage ad set on Flickr. I should have been born in the 50’s — I’d have been an ad designer for computer in the 70’s. And with a little bit of luck, I’d been born in San Francisco, and would have spent my spare time on bands posters.
Anyway, this is a fresh way to finish the year folks. The next will be better, I swear. Take care, and forgot all about economic disasters, hunger, war and global warming.
For once in the year, just have fun.

Tonight is sex, drungs and rock’n'roll (I’m afraid you can’t have the three at once.)
See you next year!
Zélia.
