If like me, you’re an amateur for everything involving vintage graphic design et 50’s era, you’ll love my friend Coline’s tumblog. She finally decided to share her incredible treasures, from vintage catalogs to photos she founded back in a garage sale. You’ll also find tons of strange videos that might at least make you smile. I sure hope she’ll start to scan all the incredibly well preserved magazines she’s been keeping with love for years now. Welcome to the world of Colinette à la cour.

A nice typographic job, spotted on “Graphisme et intéractivité“, by Christine Tran. I couldn’t seem to find this work on her portfolio tho… Too bad.

A few days ago, I’ve posted a few vintage shots of New York, showing lots of wonderful typography and bright colors — and at the same time, showing a city full of life and people. Stumbling upon this photo serie by Allan Tannenbaum, I was just mesmerized by the other side of the coin. I can’t encourage you enough to take a look at the wonderful article over there at The Selvedge Yard, for it’s a really interesting piece of history.

You wouldn’t even recognize this place back in the 70s… you’d have been tripping over hypodermic needles, and fighting off the hookers back then. It was nasty, man.”
